New Sightings
November, 2005

It's almost the end of November,2005 and during the last two weeks, we have added some new visitors to our garden feeders.
The first was a Jay that made a very short visit a couple of weeks ago.  There wasn't enough time to grab a camera.  This week, it stayed for some time an I managed to get several shots of it.

The next surprise was a Nuthatch.  This was certainly a first.  He, too was here long enough to get a couple of pictures but not any good ones, I'm afraid.

Another "first" happened yesterday,25th November.  We saw a bird that we didn't recognise.  We believe it to be a male Brambling.  He stayed and made several visits to the sunflowers and was quite happy to stand up to the Greenfinches who are always 'arguing'!

Here are some of the pictures that I took.  If you click on any one, there is a larger version that will open in a new window.

Whilst writing this, we had another rare sighting.  This time a male Bullfinch.  This is only the second time that I have seen on in the garden in seven years.  Once again, it left before I could reach for a camera!

2nd December, 2005
It has been confirmed that the new bird is a Brambling.  He has become a regular visitor to the feeders aver the last few days.  Here are some more photos that I took this morning.
