Robyn's Diary (cont)

Now that we are home, most days are a little boring so the diary will only record the highlights of the week.

Wednesday, 22nd August

Today we went to Manorbier Castle.  I have never been to a castle before so I was quite excited.  When we got to the car park, we walked back up the hill to the castle.  First of all we went up a tall tower.  There were winding steps and they were narrow and wiggly.  In some of the rooms, there were pretend people.

We went all over the castle and then we went back to the car to eat our lunch.  After lunch we went to the beach and I paddled in a pool with Granddad.  Then we went home for supper.

Today, we went to visit relations in Fishguard.  We started with Owen and Nansi who are my second cousins twice removed.  They live in a house on the quay in Lower Town.  When we got there, Owen was out in his boat with his son and grandson, Wyn and Osian.  We talked to Nansi and Julie, Wyn's wife.  We saw Owen's boat come in and then we went to The Ship for a drink.  Next, we had our lunch in the car.  This was our view from the car.

After lunch, we went and sat with Owen and his family.  I ate some biscuits and sweets while the grown-ups drank some coffee.
Next, we went to see Judy and Tom.  They are my second cousins once removed.  Grandma said that they had a secret garden that had been shown on BBC Two television so I wanted to find it.  It was really, really good; better than the seaside!  There were hidden paths and secret tunnels under the bushes.  There was a ladder leaning up against a tree and Granddad let me climb it.  I could see the sea from the top.  I had a lovely time.  When we got home, we had  a barbecue.  I had chicken satays and when I went to bed, Granddad read some more of The Iron Man.  It's really good.

Can you see my face in the top of the tree?
